exams have been over for about a week. iv spent most of my time either in front of the tv, at work, and in the kitchen... hee.
thursday - went to the library to borrow/print recipes. bought some baking utensils (since we have none at home), then baked cookies and cupcakes (which didn't turn out quite the way i wanted)
friday - cooked a full asian dinner for nimesha, supun, lisa and christa.
rice, black bean soup, fried wanton, kailan with mushrooms and oyster sauce, plum sauce pork ribs.
heh heh. turned out pretty well considering i havnt even made that proper a meal for family before. AND all the food went - which could either mean i made just enough, or the food was actually that good. (i'd like to think the latter. heh heh.)
saturday - baked some more. apple crumble for christa's 19th. it was gooooooood.
unfortunately, no one thought of taking any photos, so we'll just have to put it down to memory..
took a break for a coupla days, cos of sore feet from work and baking. haha..
this evening, well actually starting at 2pm this afternoon, nimesha decided to cook a massive 5course-candlelight dinner for supun. i helped, and chaperoned, since the upstairs was overtaken by the couple..
spent a grand total of 5hours to cook..
1. egg salad
2. corn and chicken soup
3. linguini and pasta sauce
4. steak + potatoes with wine mushroom sauce
5. chocolate box
i assisted. a little.
i'd like to take credit for presentation and the chocolate box though. heh heh. =)
well yeah.. so nimesha took forever to decide where to have the dinner. she initially wanted to have it outside in the garden, but the weather didn't allow for that to happen.. it's been really really windy all day, and then it decided to pour at about 8.30.. so....
i was confined to the kitchen for the whole evening (which wasn't too bad considering i now have my computer up and running again)
all flustered cos she was late and he had to work at 10pm, this was how upstairs was transformed. don't think the upstairs has ever looked that pretty either..
flower petals and candles all over.
i selected some music to be played in the background..

omg. how embarrassing. toilet paper i bought yesterday in the background.. eeeeek.
on offer leh.. this week at safeway: kleenex 6roll pack is $6 for 2. cheaaapo. it's usually $4++ for a pack of 6.
yeah.. so dinner time..
like i said, i take full credit for presentation. (ego booster)
