in recent times, i've spent over $500 on this little black thing with random white strands of hair i call my love.
this is the story...
i made an appointment to get scherzo desexed 3 thursdays ago.
friday evening, i picked her up. so she's fresh out of a minor op, stitches and all. i brought her home as is, cept with less hair.. they shave certain bit of her.
vet tells me not to worry, that she'll be a little out of it that evening, but all will be normal the next day.
this desexing set me back $195 which included her 2nd round of vaccination
i brought her home, and she's as per normal, jumping around like nothing's been done to her.. (stupid vet..)
the next thing i knew, the little ball of fur managed to remove her stitches and her wound is like.. open. mind you, this is 12.30am.
i don't have car.
public tpt here in melbourne is for shit.
good thing valerie's friend was over and had a car, so we frantically drove to the nearest 24hr emergency animal hospital.
even i've never been given such treatment
yeah so anyways i'm like worried like heck.. vet stitches her up, and places a cone around her neck this time..
meanwhile.. scherzo's high. indeed. high on drugs that were pumped through her for stitching cos she wasn't given any anaesthetic as i fed her earlier on.. so she's hyperbolic, and wouldn't sit still...
brought her back (this is about 2.30am now), and she didn't settle till bout 8.30 in the morning..
this very exciting event set me back another $285; $130 of which was solely consultation. bloody shit.
saturday was fine.
then sunday morning at 7am. i wake up, just to turn over.
lo and behold, i find the cone thingy sitting on the floor, and the cat on my window sill. i pick her up.
FUCK.
yes. the bloody runt found a way to wriggle out of the understandably uncomfortable cone and removed her stitches AGAIN.
gruuunt.
and you know how here in sleepy town berwick nothing is open on a sunday.
i had to recall the emergency vet to ask them what i should do..
thank goodness there was a vet open in berwick..
brought her in, vet just gave her a shot of antibiotics, but didn't stitch her up a 3rd time.
this cost $85; $50 sunday consultation.
all in all, 3vets in 4days.
monday i brought her back to my own vet just so they know what's happening.
man. my fill of vets for that week was way too expensive for my liking...

after all that, 2days ago, this little runt climbed out my window, and disappeared into oblivion for i don't know how long she was out.
but i found her.
very very exciting few weeks with my little scherzo..
i love her. sigh...
especially when she snuggles under my comforter with me.
=)
*edit 18 may 07: she's all goooooooood now.. wound's healing well. fur's growing back*
