so we had a band autumn concert.. which went all well. i didn't take many pictures, but i'll post them anyways..
hmmm.. right.. this was actually taken from the music festival.. oh well..
warmup session before the concert. with an awfully unglam picture of myself. -.-"
1 horn, 4 trumpets, 1 tuba, 1 eupho, 6 trombones.
it's a warped brass section.. especially the fact that there's only 1 horn.
Tim and Jacky
Tim's this wonderful guy who sends me to fiona's after each band practice session.
Tim's super active with music.. He's like in 6different bands/orchestra/musical company you name it, he's in it.. He plays the piccolo btw..
yeah.. so he's in MumCo - which is the musical theatre group of Monash Uni..
They've got a production this winter, and they were in need of a horn player. So Time asked if I were interested.
YESSS!!!
So major long story about my french horn cut short:
i don't have a horn,
tim helped me find a horn (actually i think ingrid, MSW conductor found the horn, but tim's sorta been the liason) which is available for rent at $100/term; which isn't that much, but cos i have rent to think about.. it is quite a bit of money
tim offered to pay for part of the rental of the horn, i'd pay the rest
in the mean time, Tony (musical director for the musical) tells me he'll speak to MumCo to see if they'll contribute to the cost of rental
i get an email from tony saying Mumco are willing to pay for all $100 of the rental fee.
ROCKS!!!!!!!
yay!!! happy is me.
i finally get a horn for next sem, don't have to depend on ingrid. i have an instrument to bring home to practice. ie i go for practices with actual practice.
i get to play in 2 different groups.
the best part is, im lucky enough for someone to pay for me.
=)
